Privacy policy

Effective October 16, 2026

This policy covers 52weeks, the social calendar app operated by Silas Spencer. Contact us using the address below with privacy questions or requests. Our Text privacy policy gives additional details about phone verification and optional activity texts.

Information we collect

  • Account information, including your name, email or phone number, verification records, password hash, username, and account settings.
  • Your date of birth is checked during signup to confirm you are at least 13. We do not save the date after that check.
  • Profile information you provide, including your photo, bio, interests, chosen home city and its coordinates, timezone, and referral information.
  • Your use of social and calendar features, including friendships, blocks, invitations, RSVPs, events, tasks, reminders, comments, photos, stickers, notification preferences, and delivery records.
  • Data from connected Google accounts, described below; prompts and generated images when you use sticker generation; and location or event searches you request.
  • People-search queries, results and clicks, and technical information used to operate and protect the service, including request and security records and IP addresses.

How we use information

We use information to create and secure your account, display and sync calendars and tasks, support scheduling and discovery, show profiles and shared content, deliver requested notifications, and investigate errors or abuse. People-search information helps us rank results and understand whether searches find the intended people.

What other people can see

Your profile link can show your name, username, photo, bio, home city, interests, and timezone to visitors without an account. Turning off discoverability removes you from people-search and contact matching; it does not make your profile link private.

Calendar, task, and friends-list sharing have separate controls in Settings. Google events and tasks are private on 52weeks by default. Your settings and per-friend choices determine whether accepted friends see event details or busy times. Guest task sharing is a separate choice that can show task titles, dates, and completion to visitors to your public profile. Task notes are omitted from profile task views.

If you enable public calendar sharing, visitors without an account can see the event times or details you choose to make public. Turning off search discovery does not turn off public calendar or task sharing.

Avatars and stickers use public image links. Event and comment photos use access checks. People who can view content may copy or share it outside 52weeks; changing a setting cannot recall copies someone already made.

Google Calendar and Google Tasks

Connecting Google authorizes 52weeks to access your Google identity, selected calendar events, calendar list, availability information for shared scheduling, and Google Tasks. We store connection tokens so the app can synchronize without asking you to sign in each time. The requested permissions include reading, creating, updating, and deleting calendar events and tasks.

52weeks automatically copies events you create or accept with Yes or Maybe into your primary Google calendar, including titles, descriptions, locations, and times. These copies are marked private in Google. Task syncing can send titles, notes, due dates, and completion to Google, including tasks shared with you. App sharing controls govern what other 52weeks users can see; Google has its own account and calendar controls.

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use this information for the calendar, task, and scheduling features described here. Connecting Google does not send your calendar to the sticker generator.

You can revoke 52weeks access through your Google Account connections. Revoking access stops future authorized access but does not itself delete information already stored by 52weeks or copies already created in Google. Contact us about deletion.

Providers that process information

  • Hosting, database, cache, and object-storage providers process information and media needed to run the app.
  • Google processes account connections and Calendar and Tasks synchronization. Twilio, carriers, and RCS network providers process phone verification and message delivery. Resend processes email recipients and message content for email delivery.
  • fal.ai and its Ideogram image-generation service receive the prompt you submit to generate a sticker and return the generated image. Part of your prompt may become the saved sticker name, so avoid including private information in prompts.
  • Location-search providers, including Photon, receive location-search text and an optional location bias. Event-listing providers, including Ticketmaster and OpenAgenda, receive search-area and date information to find nearby events.

We may disclose information when required by law or when needed to investigate abuse, protect people, or secure the service. External providers and sites also have their own privacy policies.

Cookies and browser storage

We use cookies for sign-in sessions, signup, and Google authorization. Browser session storage remembers signup progress without saving your password or verification code. Local storage remembers choices such as which friends appear in your calendar overlay. Blocking or clearing this storage can reset these features or sign you out. The app does not currently change these functions in response to browser Do Not Track signals.

Retention and deletion

We retain information to provide the service, maintain account and consent records, investigate problems or abuse, and meet legal obligations. People-search telemetry is scheduled for daily cleanup of records older than 30 days. Other information does not currently have a single automatic deletion period.

Deleting a task or comment removes it from the app's visible views but does not immediately erase all underlying records or media. Backups, provider records, security records, and information needed for legal obligations may have different retention. Contact us to request deletion or ask what remains stored.

Your choices and requests

Use Settings to change your profile, discoverability, sharing, and notification preferences. You can turn off activity texts there or reply STOP. For access, correction, a copy of your information, account deletion, or another privacy request, email the contact address below from your account email when possible. Describe the request without sending a password, verification code, or unnecessary sensitive data.

We may need to verify account ownership before changing or disclosing information. Requests currently go through support rather than a self-service account deletion screen. Your rights and any permitted exceptions depend on applicable law. If you believe information about a child was collected without required permission, contact us so we can investigate and address it.

Changes to this policy

We will update the effective date when this policy changes and provide additional notice or request agreement when applicable law or provider requirements call for it.
